Born Cleveland Oh and raised on the mean streets of Chicago Il., Curtis Oats, AKA Cmint the Hitmaker, started his musical journey when he was 17, when he was given a musical opportunity by his drug dealer partrner. It was at this moment that Cmint the Hitmaker knew he wanted to be part of The Scene.

He first became interested in the House music and Gangsta Rap music scene in 1986. In 1984, aged 16, his mother and Dad bought him his first set of decks. At the age of 23, he was already being touted as Chicago Ill.’s answer to DJ swizz beats. He did various warm up sets before the doors opened in clubs hosting major names such as twister, Bo Deal, Steve silk hurley and many more. In 1989, he achieved his big break when Curtis Oats realized he was big in the game. It was after this point when he started getting gigs at big events such as America got Talent and City-wide Talent search.

After receiving several offers, Curtis Oats Form Thunder N Lightning multi-media Production, who helped distribute his first internet release, Roll with Me in 2018. Though the single did well, Curtis Oats is a fighter and since 1987 has been locked in the studio perfecting his craft.

Suffice to say, the House and Rap scene should be expecting big things from Curtis Oats in 2023.
